Triple Berry Pie

Another summer berry pie. They are tasty so I can’t resist. The only challenge is coming up with a new creative one to do every week so that I’m doing a different pie, as it was pretty tempting to just do blueberry again.

First a bottom crust…

Berries berries berries. I’m using 1 cup of raspberries, 2 cups blackberries, and 2 cups chopped strawberries. Blueberries also work well here.

Added to 2/3 cup sugar, 1/3 cup all-purpose flour. Stirred by hand. Dropped in to bottom crust in 9″ pie plate.

Oven preheated to 375. Add top crust, and seal.

I’m doing funky things lately with the crust edges to keep myself entertained. Overall my pie presentation has improved from this time last year.  Small progress is nice.

Foil around crust edge, bake for 25 minutes. Remove foil, bake for 30 minutes.

I may be burned out a bit, but berry pies are so delicious, it’s hard to decide between doing that which I know will work and doing something weird in the name of blog experimentation.
